Jordan Reyne's latest collection of folk songs with-industrial-teeth is heavy with the history of the South Island's West Coast, 'How the Dead Live', made as part of SOUNZ and Creative New Zealand's Wild Creations residency, excavates the life of early settler, Susannah Hawes in the town of Karamea. Now half-a-world-away, Jordan purchased a one-way ticket to Germany in 2003, and is still there, in the city of Hamburg. Sam Wicks synched studios at Radio New Zealand and Norddeutscher Rundfunk, to speak to Jordan about the pioneering life she uncovered.
