From RNZ Music

The genre of 'conscious hip hop' is contested ground, grouping together a hodge-podge of artists like Common, Kanye West and Mos Def, often teamed with jazz-inflected production - with the suggestion being that their music is somehow higher-minded than most. It is also a genre that a new project from two Auckland rappers and their producer Christoph El Truento have been tagged with - much to their displeasure. Sam Wicks met up with the lyricists behind @peace - Tom Scott (also of Homebrew) and Lui Tuiasau (also of Nothing to Nobody).
