Tonight, philosophy Professor Alan Musgrave from the University of Otago on Galileo, great defender of Copernicanism and the one who famously got into trouble with the Church because of his activities. Before our own times, there were three great revolutions in scientific thought: the Copernican Revolution (c. 1550-1650), the Chemical Revolution (c. 1750-1800), and the Darwinian Revolution (c. 1850-1900).
