09:05 NZ soldier in British Army honoured for role in grenade attack in Afghanistan
James McKie, a former NZ soldier now a rifleman with the British Army based in Edinburgh. He was involved in a grenade attack in Afghanistan in March. McKie has been hailed a hero for hurling a live grenade back at the Taleban and saving the lives of two British army comrades in Helmand; he suffered shrapnel wounds in the process.
