The 69-year-old who is based in Adelaide is in demand to play folk festivals has released many CDs and written scores of songs. Many of his songs reference wartime. His song, 'Bringing Buddy Home' is about Australia's involvement in Afghanistan. While his work has a quite an Australasian flavour, Eric Bogle actually immigrated to Australia from Scotland.
