Anti-Islamic incidents have also been on the rise in Australia, following a series of police raids based on intelligence suggesting the Islamic State militant group was planning public beheadings on Australian soil.  Semaa Abdulwali is a 20 year old medical science student at Sydney's Macquarie University, and on the executive of the University's Muslim Students' Association. This week, she wrote a piece for the Guardian titled, "The niqab makes me feel liberated, and no law will stop me from wearing it".
