Christchurch families forced to live in sheds and garages New research has revealed how dire the housing situation is in Christchurch for some families, with hundreds of people being forced to live in cold crowded and damp garages, sheds, caravans and containers. Te Puawaitanga Trust - which is a whanau ora health and social provider in the city has surveyed its clients on their housing situations, and found alarming increases in the number of people living in outbuildings and overcrowded conditions since the earthquakes.
