Changes for trainee teachers

The Education Council will unveil changes to the way new teachers are supported and mentored. This follows a report by the Education Review Office, which finds that too many new teachers are not well prepared enough to do their job. It finds that some teacher training courses use outdated teaching methods, and that trainee teachers should be required to meet higher standards.
