US marine biologist who is arguably more connected with wild dolphin culture than anyone else in the world. She has devoted nearly three decades to studying a specific pod of Atlantic spotted dolphins, tracking an unprecedented three generations. In 1985 she founded the ground-breaking Wild Dolphin Project, a non-profit, scientific research organisation in Jupiter, Florida, the longest-running underwater study of its kind.
