Foreign fighters head to Syria

David Malet is Associate Director of the Melbourne School of Government and Senior Lecturer in International Relations at the University of Melbourne. He served as a defense and foreign policy aide to United States Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle. Dr Malet's research concerns transnational security issues, the transformation of warfare, identity politics and tensions between national security and human security. His book, 'Foreign Fighters', is forthcoming from Oxford University Press.
