One In Five

Sunday nights at 7:06pm, repeated Tuesdays at 12:30am

Sunday, 21 June 2009: The spirit of inclusion

We mark Disability Awareness Sunday - a chance to open hearts and minds to the experience of disability - by talking with members of the Disability, Spirituality and Faith Network about their latest anthology 'O Light'

And staying with the theme of opening hearts and minds, we cross over to the grand hall in Parliament to talk with Doctor Jude MacArthur. She's wanting to convince educators of the benefits of inclusive education. Jude MacArthur profiles the new DVD and booklet, 'Learning Better Together', that highlights her latest research comparing results for disabled students in regular classrooms with their counterparts in special schools or units. She says that research shows inclusive education to be the winner hands down.
