Controversial Irish comedian Tommy Tiernan has the highest selling DVD sales in his native country and is second only to U2 for live ticket sales, including a record-breaking run of 166 dates in Dublin's 1000-seat theatre, Vicar Street. He also holds the Guinness World Record for the longest stand-up comedy show by an individual (36 hours and 15 minutes in Galway, 2009). He plays one New Zealand show, at Auckland's Sky City on 26 April, as part of the 2010 NZ International Comedy Festival (23 April-16 May).

Singer-songwriter Káren Hunter teaches at the University of Auckland on the popular music major of the Bachelor of Music programme, where she mentors young performers. Over the summer she toured nationwide in support of her 2010 album, Words & Groove; that record and 2007's Rubble form the basis for a new show, Scrapyard Cabaret, created for the 2010 Taupo ERUPT Festival (6-16 May). She will perform there with her six-piece band on 8 May, and will play at a Guitar Association of New Zealand gig at the Ponsonby Cruising Club on 21 April.
