Wakatū Incorporation is a family-owned business with commercial and residential property, marine farms, orchards and the multi-million dollar exporting business Kono.

It has approximately 4,000 shareholders descending from Te Tau Ihu - the original Māori landowners of the Nelson, Tasman and Golden Bay Regions.

Kerensa (Ngati Tama, Ngaruahine and Ngati Whawhakia), is one of these descendants and was appointed CEO of the company in December 2016.
