Sunday, 27 December 2009: Under Sail

Under Sail

Robin Falvey was lucky enough to get a job as a deckhand aboard a nineteenth century rigged sail-training ship working out of Auckland.

Tall ship Soren Larsen is a grand old lady of the sea - all well scrubbed decks, gleaming brass and elegant square sails. She works the coast of Northern New Zealand during the summer months and then after her annual refit at Whangarei, heads out into the Pacific.

Join Robin Falvey, the crew and the trainees as they slip their moorings and head out onto the blue on the good ship Soren Larsen.
