Written in response to the Canterbury earthquake of 4 September 2010, Quaky Cat by Diana Noonan and Gavin Bishop is an evocative, uplifting story that will touch the hearts of all who read it. It's a story for children throughout New Zealand – to bring comfort to those who experienced the earthquakes, and understanding to the children who didn't.

Diana Noonan is a children's writer who lives in the Catlins. She has published over 100 titles for children, from young adult novels to picture books for learner readers. She has also written for radio, television and film and was writer in residence at the Dunedin College of Education in 1993. Noonan has won several national awards and has had four titles shortlisted for New Zealand children's literature prizes.
Gavin Bishop is one of our best known illustrators and lives in Christchurch.
