A couple of young brothers enjoy fishing with the Maori King on Waitangi Day 1934. (7′48″)
On Waitangi Day in 1934 a couple of boys go down to the Opua wharf to fish while their parents go to Waitangi to see all the famous people there and be part of the very first official Waitangi Day celebrations. A young immaculately dressed man comes up to the boys and asks to join them. He soon catches a couple of snapper and his friends make up lines and fish too. Later the boys learn that in fact he was the fifth Maori King, Koroki Mahuta.
