Feature Interview - Dr Rebecca Carey

From Summer Times, 10:10 am on 11 January 2018

Scientists have discovered that one of the largest ever volcanic eruptions in the 20th century took place 1000 kilometres off the coast of New Zealand in 2012. Volcano Herve's eruption was only detected after a large pumice raft was detected on satellite images. Since then researchers and scientists have been looking at what has happened and the impact it has had on the environment. University of Tasmania lead author and volcanologist Dr Rebecca Carey talks to Megan about what they have found so far.
