9:06 Mediawatch

A 21 year-old athlete died at the Winter Olympics last weekend in a horrific high-speed accident which was caught on film. But was it right to broadcast the moment of this man's death on the TV news? Mediawatch also looks at what the government now expects from Radio New Zealand's governors; and why was a TV One presenter last Monday interviewing another TV One presenter about something another TV One presenter had said on another TV One news show earlier in the day?
Produced and presented by Colin Peacock and Jeremy Rose.

11.05 Ideas: Water

In Ideas this week we take another look at water and, in particular, household supply and the contentious issues of water meters and privatisation. A recent report commissioned by the British Government has recommended a move away from paying for water based on rateable value and suggested that water meters should be installed in as many as 80 percent of British homes by 2020. We hear from the author of the report, Anna Walker, and we talk Maria McMillan of Right to Water and Peter Whitehouse of Water New Zealand about the situation in New Zealand.
See the Guardian article on Anna Walker's report
