A building expert says Maori need to wake up to the issue of earthquake-prone marae, describing the situation as a 'big runaway train hurtling towards them'. Whanau of students at a bilingual unit at an Auckland school says they are willing to meet with the Board of Trustees to help resolve concerns following a protest held this week. An Australian-based study shows the Maori language changes much faster compared to other Pacific ones. One of Aotearoa's largest tribes says it needs better clarity from the Government in order to help it move forward with a project to buy its region's state houses.
