The government is being accused of mistreating Maori by not holding widespread consultation with iwi about plans to relocate the country's founding document, Te Tiriti o Waitangi; An urgent hearing of the Waitangi Tribunal is currently underway to consider a claim from a Wellington iwi that the Crown has breached Treaty principals by offering lower North Island tribe Ngati Toa property in the capital as part of its Treaty settlement; A Kaitaia pharmacist says the Maori GP who's resigned from the local iwi health provider is highly regarded by other health professionals in the region; Two studies to find ways of reducing smoking among Maori have received about 750-thousand dollars in funding.
