But the Government hasn't run out of things it wants to do - and still has business it is legally obliged to complete before the dissolution, like passing a budget, something that took most of today's time in the Chamber.

The Leader of the House ran through his list of what still needs to occur and the things that the Government would like to fit in around that.

And outside of the Chamber it is also still busy.

Tuesday was super-charged, with a sudden Fresh Approach to the leadership of the Parliamentary Labour Party.

And just hours after Jacinda Ardern had been selected as the new Labour Leader she was in the House leading off the days questions to Ministers. Her arrival had a real impact on the mood in the chamber.
