A bill that would ensure child poverty is counted and reported on has passed its first reading in the House.
The Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern's Child Poverty Reduction Bill will also force governments to set targets for child poverty reduction.
The Leader of the House Chris Hipkins spoke to Phil Smith about the Bill and other business the House will deal with this week.
