The Horrors

Horrors and NickThey’ve trawled the bins for rare Mint Chicks’ 7” and they’ve re-mixed a Connan Mockasin song, but how do UK quintet The Horrors know so much about these local musicians? Kirsten Johnstone and Nick Atkinson found out when the notoriously tight-jean wearing group played Laneway recently. Keyboardist Tom Cowan opened up about the bands lack of success recording in the country side. Listen here.


tUnE-yArDs is session

After relocating to Oakland the artist known as tUnE-yArDs (Merrill Garbus) honed her unique solo set that blends all manner of loops and riffs to form a sound that had a local Kings Arms crowd in raptures when she performed there recently. Kirsten Johnstone welcomes tUnE-yArDs into the studio to record a live session with her trusty tenor ukulele.
