Topics - the Auckland City Council met this afternoon and rejected a binding referendum on imposing motorway tolls on roads as people never tire of pointing out that were built sometimes a long time ago and not necessarily by Auckland Council. "Party time" in many Auckland schools because the city's housing shortage has bumped about half of them down the decile ratings; therefore extra state funding. 50 per cent of schools in the Auckland South district have dropped at least one step on the decile scale. Forty per cent of schools on the North Shore and in Waitakere and Rodney will pick up extra state funding of up to $70,000 a year. We're hearing Kim Dotcom is broke. His American lawyer implied last night to us that the remainder of the legal team is working in anticipation of frozen assets being liquidated.
