Topics - the use of torture during interrogation has been officially acknowledged by the release of a report by the United States government's Senate Intelligence Committee today. The US tortured prisoners in its secret prisons before and after the 2003 invasion of Iraq, in a quest first of all to find weapons of mass destruction, and to find al-Qaeda leaders like Osama bin Laden. Christchurch's religious groups are worried they'll have to curb their activities under proposed city council planning changes. The Methodist church has been vocal. It is complaining about church buildings in residential are being treated as an "alien" activity under Christchurch City Council's proposed new Replacement District Plan.
