At the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, they analysed the brain patterns of 100 people using MRI scans.

Participants were asked to focus on a fixed point for five minutes.

The team looked at which areas of the brain were working together. They do so at greater or lesser levels of efficiency depending on how good your brain is.

People with efficient brains may have too much brain capacity to stop their minds from wandering.
