Supermarket New World has revealed it has rolled out facial recognition technology at some of its North Island stores. It was only admitted when a Dunedin man was mistakenly identified as a shoplifter.

Meanwhile, in Britain, a new report has found the Metropolitan Police's facial recognition software is 98 percent inaccurate.

Lawyer Michael Bott joins the show to discuss the legal ramifications of this technology.
