Show notes
In the show this week…….
First up what do you do when your chickens stop laying? The final episode of the Funky Chicken Farm...how to phase out your non-productive units (Kill). And we speak to the professor at the University of the Philippines who's reckons he's found a new use for chicken feathers. He's invented a new building material made out of them.
At 12:40pmmeet fruit hunter Adam Gollner. He's spent 10 years tracking down and tasting the most exotic fruits from around the planet. From the miracle berry to the vanilla bean fruit.
After the news at one we head to Korea where Anna Fifield was buried alive, all in the name of "well-dying". 50,000 people have paid to go to their own funeral and be buried alive - then they get reborn and learn to value their lives more....well, that's the theory anyhow!
Then at about 1:30pm our technology correspondent Peter Griffin's in to chat about Google Street View.Rumour has it New Zealand's already been photographed and soon you'll be able to zoom down to street-level on your PC and check out all the roads and surrounding places of our major cities in glorious 360-degree colour. But it's raising some interesting privacy concerns.
And then before the news at 2 - with the Olympics underway - Nicholas Hobbes is back to answer some Games-related sporting conundrums. Like have the great games ever been profitable for the host? Can one swimming pool really be quicker than any other? And gender-testing at the Olympics.
