First up this week we head to Monaco for a preview of the 96th Tour De France. Pro cycling's been dogged by bad publicity over the past few years and no doubt the game of cat and mouse will continue between the dopers and the testers. But there's also the Armstrong effect as well - seven times champ Lance Armstrong's having another crack at the podium. Ned Boulting of ITV joins us from the start line.
Then at 12:25pm - the 4th of July, US Independence Day is one of the most important dates of the year if you a patriotic American. But it's also a big day if you're a competitive eater because at Coney Island in New York it's the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog-Eating Contest. We go inside the world of competitive eating with writer Jason Fagone.
At about 12:40pm continuing our US/hotdog theme and hot dog historian Bruce Kraig charts the hot dog's migration from Europe to the US. Nowadays Americans chomp through about 20 billion hot dogs a year- that's about 65 hot dogs a year for every man, woman and child living in the US! So what's been the secret of the hot dog's success?
After the news at 1:15pm we're nibbling nuts, and this week we get up close and personal with the Brazil nut. More Brazil nuts get exported from Bolivia than they do from Brazil and it's been a source of some diplomatic friction over the years.
Then at around 1:30pmICANN is the not-for-profit organisation that looks after the way web addresses work. But with massive growth in both the number of websites and the number of people using the web, how's the net going to cope. We speak to the outgoing CEO and President of ICANN Paul Twomey about the challenges ahead.
Finally, before we go we're making peanut sauce Malaysian style. Satay anyone?!
