QUICK HITS
12:15 Bras
12:50 Model railways
1:15 Personal video recorders
1:30 Blind tasting wine
1:55 Israel: Sabbath-friendly elevators

First up this week...sports, push-ups, cross-your-heart, padded, strapless, and under-wired....the modern bra's an amazing piece of engineering! We're looking at the history of the brassiere and the physics and aesthetics of the push-up bra. Plus why women's breasts are getting bigger. Sales of larger cup sizes are up more than 50 percent in the last three years!

At about 12:50pm our new recruit Sonia Yee steams in to the world of model train collectors - she meets fans and enthusiasts at the recent Railex expo in Lower Hutt.

After the news at 1:15pm we review the latest personal video recorders or PVRs with Peter Griffin. These are the hard drives hooked up to your TV decoder that let you record hours of TV and movies and skip the ads. So what are the things you need to consider if you're choosing between TIVo, MySky and MyFreeview?

Then at about 1:30pm we're blind tasting wine and generally we like to think that if we spend more on something - whether it's a pair of jeans, a bit of cheese or a bottle of wine, we're getting a better quality, more enjoyable product. Well we're speaking to neuroscience buff who's tested how our expectations shape our experience of foods and drinks. Robin Goldstein blind tasted 6,000 glasses of wine and the results show many people prefer cheaper wines to more expensive vintages.

And before we go we're off to Israel where an elevator's annoying the religious authorities. Basically if you're an observant Jew you can't do any work on the Sabbath and that stretches to switching things on and off and using electrical appliances. So there's a whole line in domestic appliances to make sure you don't break religious laws. Well now a Sabbath-friendly elevator has fallen foul of the rabbis.
