THE SMALL PRINT
First up this week we're geo-engineering. It's the science of using technology to change the earth's climate. And whether you believe in climate change or not, right now there are politicians, entrepreneurs and scientists investing time, money and energy into geo-engineering. Jeff Goodell's new book 'How to cool the planet: Geoengineering and the audacious quest to fix the Earth's climate' is published by Scribe.

Then at 12:45pm nutmeg is a seed that grows inside a nectarine-like fruit in Indonesia and it's great in curries and eggnog. Forget about Kiwisaver or your retirement savings plan, once upon a time all you needed was a couple of nutmegs to set you up for life!
After the news the role of touch in our decision making. We're speaking to Josh Ackerman who's shown that sitting on a hard seat when negotiating a deal means you more likely to stick to you guns when it comes to price. So basically you'd better get off the couch if you're haggling for a new motor!

Then at about 1:25pm Bill Thompson beams in with technology news and we're looking at the problematic launch of Apple's iPhone 4 and its reception problems. The company is giving out free cases to consumers to deal with the problem: but has Apple gone far enough and has it done any lasting damage to the brand? Also Google's move into online gaming.

At 1:40pm the tricky task of persuading the Chinese to eat less rice and more potatoes. Rice isn't easy to grow and it's also very water intensive. So the Chinese government is banking on the humble potato to secure its future food supply.
And before we go, the world's most expensive musical instrument has gone on sale in Chicago. The only problem is finding someone prepared to shell out US$18 million for it. Yes it is a violin but it's not a Stradivarius.
