Piripi Christie from Ngati Kahungunu won a national Maori language music competition almost 10 years and hasn't looked back and Waiata features one of his first waiata he recorded almost a decade ago.

This week the show celebrates Maori female artists who write and sing in te reo Maori.
Ariana Tikao sings in her Ngai Tahu dialect, while Ngahuia Wade sings a song composed be her tupuna in the Mataatua vernacular.
Pounamu encourage Maori women to stand up and be proud, and Pacific Curls are all about peace and love.

What started out as analogue band recordings in an isolated boat shed in Petone 3 years ago has lead to the final production of the album Hikoikoi by the six piece reggae outfit of the same name.
