The venue for the 2005 lecture is the historic Rangiatea Church in Otaki. The lecturer is Professor Whatarangi Winiata, the tumuaki or Chief Executive of the Ma-ori tertiary institution Te Wa-nanga o Raukawa, and the President of the Ma-ori Party. Professor Winiata's address looks at the reconciliation of two key words in the Treaty of Waitangi: Kawanatanga (or government) and Tino Rangatiratanga (or chieftainship).
