Little Bushman is led by the inimitable Warren Maxwell formerly of Trinity Roots and Fat Freddys Drop. They have a huge and varied sound for a four piece and their music has been called atmospheric psychedelic jazz - with influences ranging from Jimi Hendrix to John Coltrane. (RNZ)

Dengue Fever is the only band on the planet whose sound is as equal parts American West Coast psychedelia and Asian Cambodian pop music. The Cambodian dimension dovetails neatly with the bands preference for snaking guitars, '60s style organ and horns that lazily drift in and out of the proceedings. (RNZ)

Natacha Atlas combines Middle Eastern and Western styles, electronic beats with North African and Arabic music to create a unique musical and cultural fusion. While always delving deeply into her Egyptian roots she also sings in English, Hindi and French. (RNZ)
