Canterbury police are appealing for witnesses to a hit and run near the entrance to a supermarket in east Christchurch at the weekend.
An 18-year-old cyclist needed surgery after the car hit him while turning into the Pak n Save car park in Wainoni, between 9.15pm and 10.15pm on Saturday night. The car was believed to be a black Toyota but the driver didn't stop.
Police also want to identify the person who took the victim to hospital in her car after the crash.
