A Hastings-based company that sells prepared meals is recalling four of its products in case they contain bone fragments.

Kaweka Foods said it was making the voluntary recall because it was notified some chicken bone fragments could be a choking risk.

The products are Kaweka Butter Chicken (350g), Thai Chicken (350g), Apricot Chicken (250g) and Weight Watchers Thai Chicken (350g).

The items have best before dates from 26 September 2016 to 14 February 2017.

The meals have been sold at major supermarkets and other food retailers throughout the country.
