A burst water main has left thousands of homes and businesses in the Tasman district without water.
The district council said the main burst shortly after 2am this morning, affecting about 3,000 properties in Mapua and Ruby Bay.
A councillor said contractors have been working to fix the main, but work would not be completed until at least 10am.
