A post mortem has found that a Far North man who was found dead in a car died of natural causes.
Police began a homicide inquiry after the man was found dead in a vehicle on Tokerau Beach on Tuesday night.
He was Kevin George Harding aged 62, from the Karikari Peninsula.
The death has been referred to the Coroner.
