Weather disrupts flights from New Plymouth airport

Air New Zealand is clearing a backlog of passengers flying into and out of New Plymouth Airport, which has been affected by high winds.

The airport's manager, Kevin Hill, says the airport was closed for a short time this morning was out of action from midday yesterday due to strong south-easterly crosswinds.

He said about 16 flights were affected yesterday and schedules had been disrupted today.
