The police are investigating a serious crash in Greymouth in which a 17-year-old died.
Trent Michael O'Connell was the front-seat passenger in a vehicle that collided with a truck in Omoto Road about 6.30pm on Friday.
A police spokesperson said he later died in hospital from his injuries.
The 26-year-old driver of the car was treated and later discharged from hospital and a rear seat-passenger remains in hospital. The driver of the truck was not injured.
