An incident that prompted some Nelson schools to go into lockdown this morning has been resolved, police say.
Officers responded to reports of a fight at an address in Brunner Street, near Nelson Hospital, and were told a firearm was presented during the fight.
The area was cordoned off and schools in the area, including nearby Nelson College, were put into lockdown as a precaution.
Inspector Mat Arnold-Kelly says no firearm was found.
