Ash having little effect on Kiwis in Bali

1:11 pm on 4 November 2015

Volcanic ash in Bali which has closed local airports is affecting only a handful of New Zealanders expecting to fly home in the next few days, travel agents say.

An ash cloud from Mount Raung volcano has caused the cancellation of flights, including those with Virgin Australia and Jetstar which connect to flights to this country.

It is the third time volcanic ash has affected Bali flights this year.

House of Travel retail manager Brent Thomas said the biggest impact would be on people travelling to or from Bali in the next few days.

Travellers should keep in contact with their airline or their travel agent, he said.
