Golden Horse among Banks Peninsula sculptures on show

More than 60 artists are are showing their work at the biennial Sculpture on the Peninsula at historic Loudon Farm near Christchurch this weekend.

Exhibition manager Gill Hay said a 3.5m high golden horse sculpture was one of several standout pieces.

"It's in a paddock and it just glows. And it's got a mane which are going to be light bulbs which are lit up."

Ms Hay said another notable work consisted of more than 500 ceramic vessels representing local soldiers who went to war.
