A Dunedin coroner has reserved his decision on the death of 18-year-old Nicholas Munro 10 years ago.

Mr Munro died in hospital in March 2005 after being punched at a north Dunedin taxi stand.

An initial coroner's inquest was adjourned in 2008 when his father, John Munro, lodged a complaint with the Independent Police Conduct Authority.

At the coroner's court this afternoon the coroner, David Crerar, reserved his decision.
