Which car is stolen from NZ beaches the most?

A station-wagon Japanese car made by Subaru has topped the list of the most often stolen cars from beaches.

Figures from insurer AIG revealed that the top three most common car models to be stolen from beaches were the Subaru Legacy, Nissan Primera and Mazda Demio.

The popular Japanese model accounted for almost one in every 10 cars stolen from the beach.

The average claim cost was $8000 for a Legacy, $3000 for the Demio and $2000 for the Primera, according to AIG.
