Auckland Transport is trialing a new warning system to stop motorists running red lights.
It has installed the stystem at two busy, closely-spaced intersections in Remuera.
Auckland Transport has put red illuminated markers on the road. The lights in the lanes are linked to the traffic signals so when the traffic light turns red so do the markers on the road.
The trial will run until September next year.
