Police say a group of teenagers in Hawke's Bay has been waving fake guns and claiming to be from Islamic State (IS).
Officers received a call from a member of the public in Napier about 1pm, reporting four men dressed in camouflaged gear, wearing gas masks and brandishing imitation guns.
They received a second call half an hour later from a person in Hastings, who saw the teenagers pointing the guns outside a vehicle.
The police say they responded and "a number" of arrests were made.
