Police have arrested two people after a brief police chase in central Auckland this afternoon.
Just after midday, a blue Mercedes failed for stop for officers in Sandringham, police said.
The car was initially pursued, but that was abandoned because the car was being driven dangerously, they said.
The Mercedes had a minor crash near Onehunga Mall and its two occupants ran off. Two people were arrested a short time later.
The car was not reported as stolen, but the driver was wanted for breaching his bail conditions.
