The Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was called out to Tongariro National Park three times yesterday afternoon for separate incidents.

The first was for a longboarder who hit a crash barrier and broke both legs below the knees.

The second was for an English tramper on the Tongariro Crossing who fell and broke her arm.

Both were taken to Waikato Hospital.

The third person was an 81-year-old man staying in one of the ski huts further up the mountain who suffered a medical event and was flown to Rotorua Hospital.
