One person is in a critical condition in hospital after a house fire in Orewa, north Auckland, this evening.
The fire in Courthouse Lane was reported at about 8.30pm.
The Fire Service says the person was rescued from the house, and flown to the burns centre at Middlemore Hospital by Westpac's rescue helicopter.
Investigators are now on the scene. It is not yet known what caused the fire.
